Nassau County September 11 Memorial
Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, New YorkProject profile
A permanent place of remembrance, reflection, and shared memory.
Selected through a Nassau County design competition, the memorial by architect Keith Nicholas Striga and another architect honors the county residents lost on September 11, 2001. Two semi-transparent aluminum towers rise above a reflecting pool shaped by the geography of Lower Manhattan, while salvaged World Trade Center steel, black granite, water, and the victims’ names give the site its enduring emotional and civic presence.
